'Hope and Change' theme for Berkeley's Soul Sanctuary Dance Sunday Midday 11/16/08
Soul Sanctuary Dance, Berkeley's Sunday midday community dance, since 2003 is hosting a special 'Hope and Change' themed dance on Sunday, 11/16
Hope, change, compassion and inclusiveness have always been underlying values of our dance. This week, we'll honor and deepen our commitment to those values, as we celebrate change in our country, and give hope in these difficult times.
Host and DJ Zach Pine will spin an eclectic and irresistible blend of funk, soul, R&B, reggae, positive hip hop, dance classics and more to get you dancing and free your mind, body and soul.
Children and teens are always appreciated on the dance floor. Everyone dances – no need to “ask” anyone to dance. Everyone dances how they want to dance – no need to know any steps. Soul Sanctuary is a great informal workout for everyone, rejuvenating and nourishing for the soul. See you on the dance floor - shoes optional!
Free organic fruit after the dance. Wheelchair accessible. Please no scents.
We dance every Sunday midday 11am-1pm (with rare exceptions – check the website)
