5Rhythms, Soul Motion, Biodanza, Nia, and a host of other modalities
November 13, 2008 - 8:13pm — Michele
Hi There,
I'm relatively new to the area and to these different methods of dance. Can you please tell me what the differences are and what method would be good for me if I'm looking for strengthening techniques, flexibility and relaxation.
Also, what places in the East Bay and SF are great spots worth checking out?
Michele

Hi Michele,
5 rhythm is a form of ecstatic dance channeling the rhythms of flow, staccato, chaos, lyrical, and stillness.
I invite you to come to In the Heart of Mission Dance, a form of 5 rhythm, held in the Mission District of San Francsico
We are located at 3221 22nd st @ Mission St.
Every Sunday 9:30-11:30 am

No dance expereience is needed, you just need to bring an open heart, open mind, and your dancing feet!
With 5 rhythms, you, yourself become one with the rhythm of the universe!
Hope to see you there!

Nia
Hi Michele, I just joined this community and was happy to see your post!
I'm a Nia teacher in Toronto, Canada. So I can tell you a little about Nia - here's how I usually explain it:
Think it’s impossible to have fun and get fit at the same time? Then you haven't tried Nia!
Nia is a 25 year old fitness practice blending dance, martial arts & healing arts. It is fun, liberating and will introduce you to the dancer in your heart and soul.
You can see Nia on YouTube
