This is the second in a series of Tandava collections compiled by Pathaan, a British DJ who honed his talents working alongside artists like David Bowie and Talvin Singh. While the first explored movement from rhythmic Asian underground perspectives, this new CD delves into the mysteries of movement, building to a pinnacle of dancing tempos by track 4, Raja Mati’s “Nada.” It’s a magic carpet ride of swirling backbeats, cross-cultural crescendos, and dance inspiration from artists like Bombay Dub Orchestra, Youth vs. Abakus, Talvin Singh, and Rakesh Chaurasia.
