Tachina Rudman Offers Art, Movement and Joy
“Creative self-expression is a gift and a powerful tool for growth and healing,” says Bay Area artist and educator Tachina Rudman. “I want to share this gift with as many people as possible.”
Over the past six years, Rudman has been doing just that. She develops and facilitates experiential work- and playshops that use art and movement to promote well-being, selfconfidence,
and joy.
Rudman is the creator and teacher of the Open Your Heart Through Art series. In these workshops,
she combines simple art projects with movement, music, and storytelling. Rudman believes that the experience is “a powerful method for transforming oneself and creating a more fulfilled life.”
Rudman notes that in her personal journey towards healing and self-acceptance, being creative and connecting with herself in the moment has often been the only thing that has gotten her through painful times. In turn, she strives to empower others toward greater confidence, strength, and self-love through the creative process. Workshop participants range from people trying to heal past trauma to those who long to connect with their playful, silly side.
Drawing on her diverse education and experience (her background includes dance, yoga,
martial arts, nonviolent communication, sculpture, ceramics, and painting), Rudman teaches a wide-ranging selection of workshops. All people are welcome, regardless of skill level.
Here’s a sampling of offerings:
Open Your Heart Through Art: Using clay, paint, collage, music, and movement, participants have the opportunity to tap into the joy that is their creative self expression.

Create A Clay Blessing Bowl: This familyoriented workshop promotes healing through generosity. Each participant creates a bowl and gifts it to someone whose spirits need lifting. Giving the bowl promotes the realization of each person’s ability to contribute, regardless of circumstances.
Seeing Yourself Clearly: Each woman in the group creates a mirror framed with the gems of her inner and outer beauty—images that represent aspects of herself that she appreciates and wants to expand.
Although Rudman herself is an accomplished fine artist, she strives to view art making as process rather than product. In describing her workshops, she notes, “What is important is what people discover along the way.”
In addition to workshops and classes, Tachina Rudman offers private sessions tailored to individual
interests and needs. She passionately supports people on their journey toward personal fulfillment, happiness, and the chance to be the most wild, daring, and outrageous version of themselves possible.
